You're Doing It Wrong
This season offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the community within ourselves and among each other that form across time —the congregation of past, present, and future selves and communities that reside in our hearts and shape us into who we are. By acknowledging these temporal communities, we learn to navigate the waters of solitude and solidarity, understanding that both are essential to our journey. Everything results in this moment, with us the result of generations and moments of gathering and assembling and reassembling in the here and now, the precious and holy things we are.
Ultimately, Lent offers a call to presence, a reminder to appreciate the beauty of life without always needing to understand its mechanics. How can we be ready to encounter the divine in the mysteries that defy dissection?
